Question:

Can i mix tires on my motorcycle?

I just bought an 08 FZ6, and the rear tire is new. its a pilot power 2ct, however the front one needs replacing. and i want something thats more sport touring like the michelin pilot road 2. would that be ok? or should i just buy a front pilot power 2ct until the next set? Thanks!

Answer:

Mix tires common on road- look at rally bikes.
pedro needs to learn how to brake all the braking is on the front tyre when you stop in a hurry(if the back is lifting off the road, its not stopping you). losing the front you fall down the back not so much an issue I always buy the best tyre I can afford for the front. maybe thats why I havnt dropped the Ducati yet?
Under normal circumstances, different brands of tires are not going to feel any different. Under extreme circumstances you want both your tires to respond the same way. Example, if you have to apply your brakes for an emergency stop (which is always tricky on a bike!), if one of the tires has more adherence to the road than the other one, it may completely change the balance and cause you to fall.
