Question:

Can I press charges against him?

I was pushed against the side of a building in an alleyway and he felt me up (and by that I mean he put his hands under clothing all over very aggresively), hit me once in the face, and yelled and threatened me. He is 19 i just found out. Can I press charges against him? And if so, for what and what are the possible punishments? Thank you!

Answer:

Yes you can press charges. This is an aggressive sexual assault. The punishment would be quite severe, very likely he'd get a custodial sentence. Get someone who will be supportive to go with you when you report it, you will have give a very detailed account of what happened. You should get images of any injuries, and you should see a doctor for confirmation of any cuts and bruises. Don't wait the sooner you report him the better.
Smart Azz kinda summed it up.
Yeah, sexual assualt and battery. And hell yeah you should. otherwise he will think.he can do that crap and others may be harmed. Good luck be strong and get some mace and stay clear of dark alleys. Im sorry this happened to you.
Only the police can press charges for a criminal offense. You can go to the police and file a police report and ask them to evaluate the case. The police decide whether or not there's enough evidence to press charges. You can file a civil lawsuit for emotional distress, but that's different from criminal charges. At best, you could win a financial settlement from him IF you have enough proof to convince the judge.
He groped you, thats molestation He hit you, thats assault Talk to the police, it may not be too late.
