Recently I took my car to a mechanic because of a clinking noise coming from the front left tire. They said it was a rock stuck behind the heatshield, they removed it, the sound went away. Now the sound is back (I live on a gravel driveway, so this makes sense.) I‘m wondering if I can remove the tire and get the rock out myself or it is more complicated than that.
Just be carefull use a good floor jack to lift the car up by the approved jacking points place jack stand under the car. Do not work on a car lifted only with a floor jack. Do not lift a car on the gravel surface. Removing the wheel and installing the wheel is simple but locating the stone might be difficult and it might be between any of the four brake shields.
