i wouldn't say it's popular now if you like it and you can pull it off, then go for it i am not much of a fashion person so i'd probably not go for that look as i wouldn't want the attention if you like it, go for it! :)
no obviously its not in fashion, but why sacrifice your individuality for what people think about you? If you like them then wear them!
I don't know what the legal ramifications are, but you should certainly contact the Health Department in your area along with the Human Resource Department (or whomever is in charge of employee relations) in your workplace and lodge a complaint. You shouldn't even wear those gloves after they've been cleaned! You can also contact the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and report this to them. Your boss's actions are not only unacceptable, but disgusting! Until this is resolved, if he insists on your wearing those infected gloves, keep an antibacterial gel in your pocket and use it constantly. Take care, be well.
