Question:

Can I use lime juice to make buttermilk?

I need some buttermilk or sour milk but i don't have lemon juice or vinegar. Will lime juice work?

Answer:

most defenitely. The crust will loose some texture though
Yes. First, slice it into single servings, wrap each serving in wax paper, then foil and put each piece in a freezer bag. Thaw in the refrigerator for 4 hours prior to eating.
Key lime (and lemon meringue) pies are not served frozen, only cold. If you're going to eat it tonight, thaw it out in the refrigerator now. Otherwise, freeze it for thawing and eating another day. Somewhere on there, the package probably says something like Freeze until Use.
