i have 2 days trying to pull the axle from transmission,but it will not come out! I have everything apart,so i take the axle from passenger side and pull but,it came apart from the last boot.but there is still a part in the transmission that i cant take out!!!! can someone please help me and answer my prayers.I really need my car to take my father-in-law to his radiation treatments and chemotherapy in Visalia,Ca. and my wife is having the baby any day.Please help.I really need my car.
I guess you tried yanking the axle out by one of the yokes.a big no no! To make it easier to remove the axle, I always separate the lower ball joint from the control arm. Doing this allows more free movement of the axle assembly. Using a pry bar, position it between the trans- axle and the inner CV joint and give it a sharp blow with a hammer. This should disengage the retaining ring that holds the axle inside the transmission. Note: You may have to strike the pry bar a few times to accomplish this.
