Can someone tell me safety rules for handling dry ice?

Answer:

Carbon Monoxide like smoke will gather first just below the ceiling. So it should be located on the ceiling or on the top foot of the wall. I would not locate it directly above the heater.
Depends on your company's policy as to funerals. Assuming you do not have a contract with your employer, you are probably an at will employee - which means they can fire you for almost any reason. If you miss two days work - for whatever reason - they can probably fire you. Your grandfather's funeral, unfortunately, is not an emergency, in your employer's eyes.
Separate by size as well as gender. If you get several big plastic bins you can just mark the outside 'boys 0-3months' etc. If you have certain things that will cost more, it might be a good idea to hang those on hangers (you can take the clothes back off the hangers when people buy them). If its easier you could always get lots of the plastic grocery bags and let them fill a bag for a few bucks. It will get people to buy more, and help you in the long run as well.
