Someone at my work went to Belle Tire and they said to her that the pressure from windshield wipers can cause the windshield to shatter. She has little thin scratches that can only be seen in the right light and from the inside of the car. She has PWG double plated plexi glass (according to her). Can this happen or is the guy bullshiting her for money?
Plexiglas, no safety glass, yes. Wiper pressure breaking windshields, no. You could show her by just pushing in on the windshield, you can exert much more pressure then the wimpy wiper can. Give her a scare and drop the wiper on the windshield.
Lol if you took the wiper off and started swinging it hard at your windshield you#x27;d probably barely get a scratch. That guy at belle sounds like he isn#x27;t very bright.
No it cannot shatter a windshield but if the wipermotor bushings are worn out or if the wiper motor is bad it will move around i would go someplace else and have them look at the wiper motor and bushings and alingment of the wiper blades
