Can you bleed the rear brake fluid on a motorcycle that has brake drums?

Answer:

I HAVE THE SAME VEHICLE AND HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I SPENT HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT AND THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE. THE TURN SIGNAL SWITCHES IN THOSE VEHICLES BURN OUT ALL THE TIME. THEY CONTROL ALL OF THE LIGHTING IN YOUR VEHICLE. YOU NEED TO OPEN UP THE STEERING COLUMN AND REPLACE THAT TURN SIGNAL SWITCH. AT THE DEALER THEY ARE ABOUT $250.00. ONCE YOU INSTALL A NEW ONE, YOU SHOULD BE GOOD TO GO. HOPE THIS HELPS
There have been bikes with hydraulically-operated drum brakes, however generally they are rod-operated.
Only if those rear drum brakes are hydraulically operated! Most drum brakes are mechanically operated and have no hydraulic fluid.
Drum brakes do not use brake fluid. At the end of the string thing is an adjuster nut. Tighten it to take up the play in the brake pedal. Look at the rear wheel when you press on the brake pedal. You will see a long rod going from the brake pedal back to the rear brake. At the end of that rod is the adjuster nut.
It sounds to me like you have a grounding wire that is either broken off or dirty. This is the first place I would check.
