Unless you're prone to destruction and really dodgy around fire, I wouldn't see it that necessary to have a fire extinguisher on hand or in close proximity. Maybe people like that shouldn't have any business making things like that lol Isn't it creme brule (however you spell it), by the way?

In most states this responsibility is that of the tenant and is normally told to do this when the time change in March or October of each year. There is no reimbursement for this. The state requires the smoke detectors to be in each rental unit, but the responsibility to maintain them are that of the tenant. As the manager, during your quarterly, or semi annual inspection of the unit it is your responsibility to see if they are maintained and work properly.
