i have a cobalt ss, the stock wheels are polished aluminum and i want them blackWhen i went to get the painted by a friend of mine he told me they couldn't be painted, but needed to be powder-coated.
if your wheels have a clearcoat you can paint them after you clean and scuff with scotchbrite pad .if no clearcoat is present you must sand with 400 grit paper appily a etching primer and follow with paint.i would not powdercoati would do a base/clear and it will match your cars finish.goodluck!!!
