Question:

Can you remove old solder and resolder a copper pipe connection? If so, how?

I have a1.5 vertical section of copper pipe leaking between two 90 degree elbows. Can those connections to the elbows be heated and the solder removed, the pipe cleaned, and a new section of pipe soldered to the same elbow connections?I look forward to your response so I can get the water back on.

Answer:

talk on the phone to a friend. You are way too young to be home alone and too young to be on this site BTW.
Set a fireif you pull the alarm the Fire Department has to come out anywaymight as well make it worth their trip.
Rubber gloves and plastic sheeting. Use Clothes pins or safety pins, and put like a garbage bag over your clothes. The Styrofoam will stick to these and when you take them off hang them over a paper bag. As the static lessens, they will fall the bottom of the paper bag. Then all you do is fold over the top of the bag for easy removal. My best, Hope
damp cloth/towel rubbed on clothes/self first (prevents static).
