I'm trying to refinish a hardwood floor, but is a engineered type.
I would think not. The wood part is just a veneer over plywood. You could try in a hidden spot lightly sanding it by hand with a 100 wt sand paper, apply a coat of poly and see how it comes out. The thing is using a floor sander is an art. If you aren't proficient at it you could easily go right through the veneer.
Yes you can BUT you have to be careful and be able to do a light sanding. These are solid wood on top but very thin and you can go thru to the middle section which is generally pine. Not like the top layer which is your oak ,cherry or what ever. Best to have the pros do this. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
