Question:

Can you use the ceramic part of your crock pot?

In your oven? I don‘t have a roasting pan and im cooking a whole chicken. BUt i do have a crock pot and its taking forever. Can i take the inner ceramic pan out (the part without the cords and glass lid) and put it straight into the oven?

Answer:

Yes you should be able to find one that will screw into your drain plug hole. Make sure to use some teflon tape
Yes, You can use it in the oven, But I don't know if the lid is oven proof. I would just put a peice of foil over it and not take a chance of the lid breaking and ruining your chicken.
Yes, you can use the ceramic part, but do not use the lid. Most lids for crock pots are not made for use in ovens and the plastic handle WILL melt and break. Use tin foil over the ceramic well instead of the lid.
I'd worry about cracking the ceramic by putting it into the hot oven. If I were you I'd look up on cooking websites on how to cook in clay cookware. (I know I said clay and not ceramic but to me there isn't a huge difference). If you don't want to risk breaking your crock pot ceramic part how about just getting one of those cheap aluminium pans large enough for the chicken? (Then clean it and use it again or recycle it?)That is if you don't want to get a 'real' roasting pan. I see what you are saying and it sounds practical but just be aware of the sudden temperature change for the ceramic.
