Both of the rear tires of my car are worn out but the two front tires are still good. Should i replace the tires right away or is it fine like that for about a month?
You use the term worn out which to me means shot, so needing replacement right away. To be sure take it to a reputable tire store and get their opinion. Also, if you rotate your tires on a regular basis then they should be wearing well and evenly (all four). No matter what the case is though it is best to have the wheel alignment checked as well to protect the tire life and safety on the road. Hope this helps and good luck.
I've rewritten your question: Is it a ok to drive a month on worn-out tires? The answer: Of course not. Obviously your own safety as well as others is at risk here. Tires are your contact with the road surface, and you want quality down there on all four tires! When you're at the tire store, ask the service people to show you how to check the tread depth and how to regularly check the air pressure. In many states it's actually illegal to be driving on tires with less than a minimum tread depth of 2 / 32nds of an inch. Purchase a tire pressure guage if you don't own one. And, check your car's owner's manual for the recommended rotation schedule and procedure for your car. And happy, SAFE driving!
The tires with the best traction should be on the rear axle to promote vehicle stability in bad weather. If the tires are worn out that is a safety issue an yes, you should replace them. ASE Certified Automotive Service Advisor with 5 years experience in the tire industry
