my car transmission is mest up.the car runs great but when i put it in reverse it wontback up.why?? idont know. the only way i can reverse itis by pushing it back ??what could be wrong???would it be expensive to fix??
That transmission you have in that car is not cheap to fix. Sure the parts are cheap to get, however if you have never been inside that transmission or any automatic transmission for that matter It's best to have someone else do the work who has experiance in that line of work. There are so many things that can go wrong by doing it yourself. you can most likely get a good transmission out of a wrecking yard for around 350 to 500 and have it in stalled or if you have a buddy have him help you install it. Other wise if you like to have a warranty on it you can have it rebuilt by a repuitable shop. They will often give a 3 year 30,000 mile warranty on their rebuilds. Quite honestly if you have the money I would pick up something new and let this dying dog lie. if however you don't have the money but can afford a rebuild or replacement. Do that, but be sure that the rest of the car will hold together to justify the cost.
Transmission will need complete overhaul, very expensive depending on what car you have. (minimum charge may be around $1,200.00)
It's expensive to fix. The transmission is dead. I would expect the repair estimate to total the car. Time to start shopping for a new car.
