I steam clean my carpet twice a year but lately because of a sick pet it is more often. No matter if I do it myself or have a professional do it, I see dark brown water. It has never been clear. How many times do I go over the carpet to get the clean water. Is this all dirt? Or is it color from the carpet and pad. It drives me nuts. Only carpet that comes out with clear is one that was shampooed twice over the years in an extra room that isn't used. Thanks to anyone who can tell me why and what I have to do. No, I'm not a pig lol. Of course I vacuum regularly.
It's from dirt dust. Did you ever notice how much dirt your vacuum picks up??
Carpet over concrete is a no no as concrete holds moisture undesirable. I ran in the process this placed up by twist of destiny and it caught my eye as we had a similar prob some years in the past. We ended up taking the carpet up -using mildew improve-and putting down some indoor/outdoor carpeting (extra breathable). meanwhile we used a sprig product called Kilz that helped with the smell particularly. We discovered it at Lowes hardware yet any super hardware type save might desire to hold it. solid success!
its because of wear and tear on the carpet / the padding / and the sub flooring. the boards underneath nove when you walk on them..causing sawdust for lack of a better word. dirt and oils from your bodies and the dogs and things that have fallen on the carpet. dirty shoes. the padding deteriorating...its all normal. you will never truely get the floor clean. the only way to do that is to remove the carpet completely.
Carpets can be really difficult to clean. No matter how many times you go over it, you cannot get it completely clean or dirtless. If you have the money, you should seek into getting tiles or laminate flooring. To me, it's way more sanitary and much more easy to clean.
It is just dirt and dust. You can probably go over it 10 times and still get dirty water. The dirt becomes crushed down into the fibers and to the pad. The best you can do is to shampoo once, and rinse twice.
