A mechanic claimed he had to replace a catalytic converter because it was plugged like a potato was jammed in the tailpipe.I retrieved the old catalytic converter. What sort of test could I perform to determine the extent to which it is plugged? Presumably, the situation would be different driving on the freeway than just blowing cold air from an air compressor.Are there check engine error codes or other ways to know that a catalytic converter is plugged?Are there automotive forensic services, in Connecticut or nationwide, that can perform tests?
Use a hot glue gun and glue it on the back of laminated cardboard and place the pin on. Try and do it neat too. That's the way i did it for a particular occasion.
