Question:

Charger Not Working, or computer?

I recently got a new charger for my Toshiba laptop. For some reason it wont charge my laptop in any outlet I try. I jammed a charger in the laptop somehow but finally got it out. I'm wondering if its the computer that wont work or the new charger, and also if a charger will heat up even if it's not charging anything but plugged in. Thank you for you help! :)

Answer:

I jammed a charger in the laptop somehow but finally got it out. -------------------------------------- Not sure exactly what that means, but it doesn't sound too good. The problem sounds like the charging port on the laptop. Will the laptop run with the battery taken out, but with the new charger plugged in? How old is your battery? I have been told that it is possible for an old and shot battery to mess with charging/power circuitry. EDIT: Still sounds like a bad charging port on the laptop, or a motherboard issue.
