the chargers went 14-2 and lost to the patriots in the 1st round on a mental mistake---they went to the playoffs last before that in 2004 with a 12-4 record and lost to the jets in the 1st round on a missed field goal by nate keading before that it had been 7 years since they made the playoffs---everyone bitched about marty in the playoffs but you gotta get to the playoffs before you can win there

Hello, I am a diehard Chargers fan. The Chargers lost 24-21 in a horribly played game at the hands of the New England Patiots, and Nate Kaeding missed a potential tying field goal with about 20 secs left. Prior to this season, the Chargers made a playoff appearance 2 years ago, and lost in their first game this time as well. It was a home game against the New York Jets and Kaeding missed a game winning field goal in overtime. So the last season (before the 2006-2007 season) the Chargers made the playoffs was in 2004-2005.
