Question:

Cheap or free materials for making a magnetic post board?

I am pretty broke and trying to think of things I can make ppl for Christmas this year. I am on a magnet kick and think the best way to give my friend a set of magnets with small magnified images of her fav celebrity guys would be to give them to her with a board she can hang up with an all-over image on it. My idea is to do a transfer of a selected image that is printed at Staples to the size of a piece of metal that the magnets will stick onto. The problem right now is finding a piece of metal that will work. It needs to be the type that the magnets will stick to and that I can put an image onto. Sure I could go to a scrap metal yard and look around but is there any better alternative? Trying to spend as little as possible and get what I can for free. I know Home Depot sells sheet metal, but would that work??
