Question:

Cheaper way to decorate this chair for reception (Picture provided)?

I wanted to rent chair covers and sashes, but at $4.50 a chair for 200 people I think it's just ridiculous for the cost! These are the chairs my hall provides, any cheaper ways to decorate it so that is still looks nice? The chairs provided are gray...but my colors are Black and light pink.Pictures would be great if you have them! Thanks.

Answer:

I think you should leave them as it they are classy without being decorated. But if you feel like you need to decorate them go and find some real thick ribbon at a fabric store and make a sash for them or find a big bow for the chairs and put it on every other one Good Luck
You could buy a big spool of light pink fabric or tulle and make your own sashes. the sashes could just go on the chairs as they are.. I'd hold off on the chair cover if the hall won't provide them, you could do a lot more with a thousand dollars that would have much more of an impact!
Well, for one thing gray is a shade of black so it will still match very well with your black and pink colors. If anything you could do a chair sash. You can get some black or pink tulle and just cut it into the lengths and tie around the backs of the chairs where they curve inward. It would cost you about a dollar a sash if that. Really though don't worry about it. Chair covers/sashes are a pretty recent trend and guests are not going to walk around saying did you see she had GRAY chairs?!. Not going to happen. Keep in mind that bodies will be in front of and sitting in the chairs and they will barely be seen in your photographs except for the very first one you have of the empty reception hall.
girl.........seriously i would leave them alone. they are an classic shaped chair, and look fairly comfortable. the gray chairs with the white tablecloths is beautiful! very elegant! don't clutter the chairs up with bows or tulle. leave them as is. once you have added your table centrepieces of pink witha dash of black accent - the gray chairs will fit right in - the effect will be stunning! truly it will - i promise you it will be very classy looking! that $4.50 a chair for 200 people can be spent on other things that you will enjoy much more. honeymoon, furnishings for your new home, or just open a savings account and start saving for a family!!!! have a wonderful wedding and a loving marriage! good luck!
Are chair covers really necessary? The hall looks beautiful as it is. And with lots of people in there, the chairs will fade into the background, plus people will be draping jackets and things on them anyway. I think you should skip the chair covers and save some money to spend on other things that will be more noticeable.
