I need a landline for my alarm system but don't want to pay $25/month for Verizon or ATT. I am renting out this house so an internet based line is out of the question. Any ideas?

No offense, but your question isn't really worded incredibly clearlyIf you want to access the Control Panel, just go to StartControl Panel. The Task Manager can be easily accessed by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Delete. In the older versions of Windows, you could get to Task Manager from the control panel as well, but in XP apparently you can't.
It is an exhaust vent system. The tubes direct the engine exhaust out through the roof so the firefighters don't suffer from carbon monoxide poisoning
