Yes. In the kitchen only as it is unavoidable. For the rest of the home, you will burn WAY MORE Gas to do thatthen say having a forced air gas furnace.(which is designed to heat a house but not designed for cooking on) IF YOU GOT MONEY TO BURN, then go for it. (Savings nothing) The rest of the house still feels cold. . Basically you could heat your house with a BIC lighter. Not that you will notice the heat increasebut there will be some.maybe a millionth of a degree.
I worked at a company that we had to wear safety glasses. OSHA mandated that if they are requiring you to wear safety glasses and you have prescription glasses then they have to provide for your prescription safety glasses. If I were you I would check with OSHA in your state and see what their guidelines are. Don't you have the splash shields that they use in hospitals? When I worked as a phlebotomist we used the splash shields. You might check into getting that. Good luck.
