Question:

Check engine light 2001 Toyota Camry?

This morning when i drove my car about 1 mile the check engine light came up i am sure when i start my car in morning there was no light but i just came up after driving one mile so i went to auto zone and they told me code is P0440 which is evaporative emission system but my question is it could be my gas cap or i have big problem in my fuel system because i checked all hoses its not cracked or leaking i recently got new radiator and he check every thing hoses and etc. One thing i noticed before like one month ago the gas cap was loose so i tight it and then before going to auto zone i checked gas cap it was loose so i tight it but check engine light didn‘t went. The guy at auto zone told me tight the cap and drive around if it didnt go put new gas cap on so if i did that check engine light will go away or do i need to reset itgt; please help this is my first time dealing with check engine light.

Pay attention to the gas cap tightness. Don't worry about the light for now if it goes out after tightening the cap. You might just get a new cap and keep the old one for a spare. One day you will leave the cap at a gas station or drop it down a hole.
