Took it to Auto zone auto parts and the code came up Secondary air injection system.I recently changed my air cleaner and the cover is held by three screws,I dropped one down in the car frame and cant get to to it so the cover is being held with 2 screws with the front corner one missing.Could this have lead to the check engine light to come on with this code.or any other suggestions on secondary air injection system?
This code is not related to the air filter,rather it concerns a emission device that injects air into the exhaust manifold to help enhance complete burning of the gases.I think the air pump is elec motor driven and its possible a hose is loose or the motor itself is bad.The computer knows when it is not working by monitoring 02 sensor readings during eng warm up.
That's actually a common fault with the new body style S T bodies. Usually water is sucked up by the electric motor and it seizes. Take the truck for a proper diagnostic by a qualified mechanic.
nah, all u need to do is remove the box in the top right corner under the hood, it has a hose attached to it. use a vacuum and suck out the filter ****.
