I have had alot of work done on my pickup lately.new plugs, new wires.and the check engine light keeps coming back on uld the 02 sensor in the bank 3 be shot.it won‘t pass inspection like this.any suggestions.
if your truck is 96 or newer auto parts stores can scan it but the older models have obd 1 you need a scanner that can do ECV IV it will tell you what to change hope this helps also the dlc plug is under the hood on your fender
At Autozone, ask to borrow their diagnostic tool and stick it in the opening under the steering wheel, it will throw a code at you, you look it up in a book, and voila! Sometimes it even tells you right on the device what is wrong. If they insist that you buy it, then buy it, and return it for a refund five minutes later when you're done.

That's gonna cost you $$$ The modern ignition system was design to be smart and you should have the code scanned and READ the code to find the reason behind the Check Engine Light. Go to autozone (or any of the many Auto parts store with this service) and have the code scanned. Then come back with more question WITH THE CODE. Good luck.
