Question:

Check engine light is on.system too lean code?

My check engine light came on so I went to Auto Zone and they plugged in the gadget thing and the code read System Too Lean. So the associate suggested it was the fuel injectors were not giving enough gas to the engine and had me put fuel injector fluid in the gas tank, which I did along with a full tank of gas. She said if it wasn‘t my fuel injectors that the light would come back on. Lo and behold, the light cam e back on. Also my car is sucking up sooo much gas, I‘m down to a half a tank when it was just a full tank a couple days ago and I havent driven that much. Any insight on what this might be? thanks.

Answer:

attempt disconnecting the battery for a jiffy. this would desire to sparkling the codes. If it does not, the e book you got your codes from would desire to enable you be conscious of approaches to sparkling the device. as quickly as you have cleared the code, merely wait and notice if the examine engine easy comes back on in some days or much less. If it does, then i'd take a protracted seem on the sensors(oxygen, map). If it does not come back on, you have solved your problem.
The problem may be in the exhaust system, such as a bad flex coupling in the header pipe, or just be caused by a fuel filter that needs replaced. Now the fuel filter replacement is easier (and cheaper) then an exhaust leak to fix. But if you have noticed an increase in engine noise suspect that you have a leak some place between the engine and the front O2 sensor.
too lean could be the cam sensor. what ever it is the engine is,nt getting enough gas. it even could be the fuel filter.
