Question:

chemical difference between metals and non metals?

between metals and non metals?

Answer:

No. I would consider NWOBHM (Early Iron Maiden,Angel Witch, Saxon, etc.) and speed metal (early Helloween, Judas Priest, etc.) an influence on power metal. Thrash might have affected American power metal more than European power metal though. Since most American power metal bands are less melodic and more aggressive. BQ1: o.0 sorry Chronos, but no. BQ2: Definately.
I'd Say Dio was arguably the biggest influence of the genre. BQ Venom were more thrash than anything. BQ2 Yeah
Thrash Metal and Speed Metal
Power metal: Fantasy based metal genre that usually tells a story or a meaning in a song. In my opinion, Power metal sings more about warrior killing the dragon/medieval folklore and has more of an uplifting beat to the story it's portraying. The song Phantom lord does sing about that kind of topic, but the rhythm itself doesn't have anything to do with the power metal genre. here the battle roar, louder then before, with your sword in hand, you'll control the land those lyrics are what I'm guessing gave you the impression that it was power metal related. but, it's not. would it be an influence........ yeah I guess you could say that. Early thrash metal bands would have an influence on power metal bands such as Riot in the late years and I would say even iron maiden even though iron maiden isn't thrash metal was a bigger influence, since they had albums dedicated to a certain topics that power metal would be based on. Powerslave for example! but besides thrash metal... Black metal would be a huge influence as well. Why? because, black metal usually revolves around a more satanic/Demonic topic which has a lot to do with power metal topics. An example of this would be Angra - Unholy wars or Edguy - Mysteria. I hope this helps. and to answer your other questions: Q: Cronos of venom said he considers venom in the genre of power metal do you agree? A: well... songs such as bloodlust or cry wolf would sound like a power metal type of song but, no. I wouldn't consider Venom power metal at all. Q:Was king diamond an influence on power metal vocalists? A: YES! King diamond has an amazing ability to tell whats going on with multiple people at once in one song, and tell a story at the same time. An example would be King diamond - Am I evil or King diamond - Abigail album. Keep on truckin brother. m/
I would say the other way around. Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Dio and Rush I would say influenced power metal in the 70's. Thrash, in a lot of ways is a mix of speed metal and power metal. BQ1: I can see why he would like to call Venom power metal, he was influenced by it. Just like Lemmy calls Motorhead a rock and roll band. BQ2: I would say he was more of an influence on thrash, rather then power metal.
