Question:

Civil Engineering, What is force required to pull out a concrete column from the ground.?

Hi, I need to find a way to test a crane lifting performance to its limits (around 100 metric tons)One idea is to dig a big hole and fill it with concrete and then try to pull it out of the groundTo propery size a the hole or column I need to find out what is the force of friction acting on the columnThese would help save some money on concreteI welcome any help on finding the answer to this question as well as alternate ideas on how test the crane

Answer:

i didn't hear of pulling out a column , the friction can't be neglected according to my POV , but u can carry steel instead u'll even less volume well ,, that gauges idea is very nice , i liked it , u are a real innovative person , now i beleived u are an eng.
