Question:

Cold air intake and reliability?

I would like to know more about cold air intakes and how reliable they are. Most importantly though, I‘d like to know how much more reliable they are and roughly how much better fuel effeminacy I‘ll get.

Answer:

Only if there is electric current running through it. Otherwise, no, it can't become a permanent magnet. That is reserved only for iron, nickel, cobalt and a handful of odd alloys or compounds.
If you run electric current through it yes.
They can do nothing but make things better. More power. Roughly about 16hp. Ans a better sound. Happier engine. Cooler engine. Better mpg. Just a.little. and it makes your engine look a little.better when you lift your hood. I have an AEM. And they are very reliable. They will never fall off. You tighten them down with hose clamps.
As long as i know, cold air intakes change a little bit the sound of the car (almost imposible to notice), they make u save a little gas but more important, they give u some more hp's depending on car and intake. 2 recomended brands are AEM and KN
Cold air intake is a system used to bring down the temperature of the air going into a car for the purpose of increasing the power of the internal-combustion engine. A secondary goal is to increase the appeal of a car by changing the appearance of a car's engine bay and creating an attractive intake noise. These aftermarket parts come in many different colors and many different sizes, and are an inexpensive way to increase performance. All cold air intakes operate on the principal of increasing the amount of oxygen available for combustion with fuel. Cold air intakes generally work by providing cooler air from outside the hot engine bay. The best cold-air intakes are optimized for a specific engine application, providing increased airflow at ambient temperature and raising power at all engine speeds.
