Question:

Cold air intake ranger?

I just installed a cold air intake on my 2000- 4.0l ranger but it is the kind that only goes to the first air sensor and then the original plastic pipe to the carburetor do I really need the metal inter cooler pipe to the carburetor ?? I really seem to get good horsepower now but should I get one???

Answer:

HEY DUDE NO CARBS HERE IT'S THROTTLE BODY.AND THE PIPE WOULD HELP BUT NOT WORTH THE MONEY.IF YOU HAD TURBO I WOULD SAY YA,
they should fired glenn beck
not worth it.the whole thing probably only gains you 5-7 horse on a motor like that.
I think you will find that replacing it will not yield any different results. If your pipe diameter is the same, then no worries. If it is smaller, then find a full CAI. By the way, congrats on your purchase. Cold air intakes are the cheapest and most effective bolt on thing you can do, that is if your budget is 300 dollars or less.
