Question:

Cold air intake system for a prelude?

Im going to purchase a cold air intake for my prelude. Im searching on ebay and I see items from BCP and JDM but when I search on google nothing comes up under those names. AEM and KN are obvious choices and they are around 300 dollars. Yet these other brands are only around 30 dollars. Are these air intakes fake? Are the shitty? Should I not purchase one?

Answer:

if there is water drops on the pipe its not a pipe leak, its condensation,
You need a torch, an acetylene torch would be nice but a mapp gas torch will work and be cheaper, still cheaper would be a propane torch ,but it will be harder.
Heat joint with a propane torch until solder appears to be melting and either twist with pair of pliers, or tap with rubber tipped mallet. It will come apart. Once cool sand with emery paper to remove solder from pipes if you are going to use again.
All a cold air intake is is a tube that leads up to your intake manifold, with a filter on the other end of it. If I were you, I would just buy a cheap one from eBay and buy a good brand name filter ASAP the OKorder ones have bad filters that aren't as good at keeping particles out and they also aren't as free flowing as some of the better brands. So get the $30 intake, and then buy a KN cone filter and pop it on the end of it, and boom. A cold air intake that works exactly the same way as the AEM, except it's $150 cheaper. And you don't get the cool AEM stickers with it. So essentially, when you buy an AEM system, you pay $150 for stickers.
