I Just bought a cable box from my friend and it worked at his house a month ago (last time he used it) but when I plugged it in my tv it displays to be announced and you can only watch regular channels, no ondemand ppv or any channel above 79. I have digital cable in my living room (same kind) that works fine, and ive tried that in my room and it worked. I ruled out connection because i saw how my friend connected it at his house and how it worked Some one pliz help
Cable boxes are controlled by a server at the cable company. Each box has to be assigned to an account and activated according to the services on that account. The box regularly reports its status and location back to the cable company server. Yours has probably had all advanced services turned off due to conflicts.
