Question:

Coming off an academic suspension?

After sitting out my spring semester due to some academic problems which I admit are fully my fault. My academic suspension has ended. However the last semester at my school, I lost my financial aid and ended up owing the school 6,000 dollars. My question is if there is any way I can resolve this problem so I can go back to school and achieve my bachelors degree. I‘m not able to pay out of pocket, and I attempted to join the military but I never got a chance to actually get really put in the system. My plan is to go back and join my school‘s ROTC program so I can really develop and mature to avoid this situation again. But is there any way possible I can get back in this school with this debt I have looming?

Answer:

You will have to pay that debt . That particular school will not issue another school your transcript or let you register for classes also . Theres no other way in which you can attend school unless you pay that amount.
No, not until you pay all of that money back. What you need to do it call the school and set up a payment plan (like $200 per month for 3 years) before they put you in collections.
look into JobCorp -- it might be just the right solution to your needs right now -- see if you can find a JobCorp with dorms that has an available slot (even if you have to go to another state to get a spot) even though academic suspension has been lifted, you still might be under financial aid suspension your only option is to pay off what you owe the school so that you can enroll in classes most likely you will need to also pay out-of-pocket for classes (or get a private student loan with a creditworthy cosigner) finally, it isn't ROTCs job to help you become mature that is your job you need have a solid level of maturity before trying to get into ROTC or you will lose the opportunities they offer as well so did you get a job work full-time over this past spring semester? how much money did you save up or use towards that balance? do you have a full-time job for this summer? you need to be working at least 1 probably 2 jobs. even if it means working 80 hours per week until you get this debt paid off. that is what a responsible person would do time to let your social life go to the back burner while you grow-up a bit
