Question:

Compaq and a HP laptop - charger question.?

I have a HP laptop and a Comaq Laptop which, the charger has broke to the Compaq one. I checked the chargers, and both supplied, when not broken had the same connection point. They are also both 65 W. Would I be able to use the charger for both temporarily? The chargers seem to be exactly the same - even down to markins and numbers.

Answer:

Yes. If they are both the same voltage/wattage and connection pin, it's perfectly safe to use them. Most companies are making universal chargers now.
Make sure it is the proper charger, the one made for your laptop. There will be a label telling you which charger goes with which laptop model.
