I am 21 years old and i have the copper iud inserted about 16 months ago. For the past year or so my sex drive has decreased so much. I have 3 year old daughter and am married. I just want to know if anyone had had this or any side effect possibly caused by the iud. My husband and have concerted removing it.
Your copper IUD can't really do that, because it doesn't tamper with your hormones at all... The only way it could interfere with your sex drive would be if the device itself was causing apprehension for either you or your husband via pain or discomfort during intercourse. Otherwise, I don't think it's your IUD; there's nothing in it that would have that effect.
