Hi guys my corn snake is knocked up and im flapping on what to use as an incubator for the eggs im not working at mo so i cant go and but one of those expensive things even tho id love to :( but hey ho so can you guys give me some ideas please also im guna use VERMICULITE but all where ive looked it dont tell you how much water to add i KNOW it has to be 100% humidity but again can i av some advice thanks guys

Hi, I incubated python eggs last year on the cheap so I'll explain what I did and it worked well. When your snake lays her eggs, have a plastic tub ready which you have already quarter filled with vermiculite,carefully place the eggs on the bed of vermiculite so as to arrange in a rough cone shape. When you have completed this, fill the space between the eggs and the side of the tub with more vermiculite but don't bury the eggs, once you have done this take the tub lid and make some small ventilation holes in it, this is important as the eggs must be able to breath. Place the tub in your snake tank at a position that records about 88 degrees and the eggs should start to hatch about 55 to 65 days later, at which time you should remove the new born to separate holding containers. I believe you mix equal quantities of vermiculite to water by volume, hope this helps,Stef.
get a hovabator. the last answer applies to python eggs. 88 degrees is too high for corn snake eggs and could kill them. keep them from 80 to 85 at the most.
