This Site Might Help You. RE: where can i get vermiculite? ok im getting into growing bonsai trees and i need to find vermiculite does any one know of stores that carry it?
Vermiculite Walmart
Vermiculite is probably STILL sold at most home improvement stores such as Home Depot, Lowes or Menards just to name a few. I just bought a bag to absorb oil stains on my garage floor. You can probably find it in the area where they sell cellouse insulation, fiberglass insulation or styro-foam bead insulation. It's light, cheap and absorbs moisture well. It has also been recognized as a carcinogen, so if you DO use it I strongly suggest using a face mask. If you are trying to help the soil stay loose I might suggest you buy peat moss, styro-foam beads or a additive called Perl-lite which could be found at the greenhouse or Garden Center.
I get mine at the local Walmart and Zellers stores and I've seen it at he local grocery store too. It comes in bags of various sizes. It's excellent for lightening the soil. Good Growing!
