should i get a crested gecko or a leopard gecko.explain please!
Best Way To Evenly Moisten Your Vermiculite Is To Hold Some In Your Hand Soak With Water And Then Squeeze The Excess Away, Use Some Pearlite Under Your Vermiculite To Absorb The Water Keep The Humidity Up, And The Eggs Should Not Be Covered, Just Leave The Top Of The Egg Protruding From The Vermiculite
alot of people use different methods some bury the eggs some dont some people use perlite and a lite defuser and put the defuser over the perlite and the eggs on the defuser and just moisten the perlite everyday. also its key to open the container everyday to cycle the air in the incubator
When my geckos lay their eggs, i take the vermiculite, drench it in warm water, then squeeze it as hard as i can to get the access water out if it. (So it's just warm and moist.) then put the egg in the container (in the vermiculite, but not buried in it) and put a lid in it. In the wild, the geckos don't make a perfect water-vermiculite ratio. (Make sure there is a very small hole in the side other container so the egg can receive oxygen.) Put it in an incubator, or in the tank, or where ever you plan to keep it. Just make sure it stays at a CONSTANT TEMPERATURE. I always keep mine at about 80 degrees. Also, keep it very humid. You'll have healthy baby geckos in no time!
well i just spray if for like 30seconds-1minute BEFORE the eggs go in and then i currently have a hydrometer in one of the egg containers and it stays moderatly humid which so far is working just fine. you want it moderatly humid but not dripping condensation on the eggs, if water is dripping on the eggs just wipe the cover off and watch them carefully. if you spray it really well before you put them in you should be fine for at least a few weeks (ours have only been in about 3 weeks but they are perfectly humid so far) but if you need to spray again i just try to spray around the eggs but its ok if you get a little bit of water on the eggs, just try not to tho. no the eggs don't have to be covered with vermiculite, at least i don't do it and i have seen pics of other breeders and like no one does it so i wouldn't worry about it too much. hope i helped!
