Question:

Dell Inspiron charger getting ridiculously hot?

I just bought a new laptop today, Dell Inspiron. It is currently charging for the first time. I picked up the charger and it was super hot, like stove hot! I mean I was busy on it transfering my files from my old computer but that shouldn't have overheated it, if anything the laptop would be overheated. Has anyone else had this problem with a brand new charger?

Answer:

A lot of Dell laptop chargers and batteries overheat. Tell them you want a new one - it should be under warranty.
All laptop chargers are like that .I can make an omelet on my Sager's charger after using it for 30 minutes lol One thing you should worry about is the power outlet you're using.Make sure to plug in the charger to a 3-way outlet which was hot/cold/grounding connectors. That way your charger won't get burned becuase of voltage changes. Salute.
Unfortunately its pretty normal.
