Question:

Detector for leaks in the wall?

Is there such thing as a detector device to find out where in the wall their could be a leak? I've just recently installed a toilet on the second floor of my home, and I've found a puddle of water directly under the washroom in the basement. I'm not exactly sure where on the pipe the leak is starting from. So I wouldn't wanna break down any walls in the wrong spot. So is there a detector for something like this? Thanks for the help!

Answer:

First off, it's not welding, it's soldering, when you're dealing with copper pipe. You most likely have half inch type L, or type M copper pipe sticking out of your wall. Both types take the same fittings. If you want to solder on a threaded adapter, well that is fine too. It is a male adapter you most likely want. And the tool the Home Depot associate was most likely referring to was a ring puller, which you will often need to remove compression fittings. The thread on the faucet is half inch pipe thread, as opposed to half inch compression. My advice is to keep it simple, and get your under sink valves in the same half inch pipe thread, so that way when you replace the supply lines it does not matter which end you put on first.
There are modules that can integrate into your vehicles factory alarm system to then add alarm features. This will allow you to use your existing remote control and power door locking system. Be wary of who you choose for the installation. If they say they can get it done in a couple of hours run the other way. Make sure they solder all their joints, hide the alarm brain and go to the battery for the alarms power. I would highly recommend a properly installed hood lock to not allow a thief to bypass you system by pulling the fuse under the hood. Also a starter disable and shock/glass sensor are great additions.
It depends to what the argument was about, and whose fault was it? I won't let pride get in the way- by callling him; sending e-mails,etc. But let him stew for a little longer; and let him make the first move. He'll come around; when he starts missing you .
