Question:

did i bend my cars rear axle? Help!?

Ok, so it‘s first snow of the season and i JUST got out of the garage to change my tires, so as im driving home my car slips as i turn and my rear driver side wheel hit the curb sideways. Its now dented really bad inwards. Now it the car shakes horribly when i get to 95 km/h. Is it just because of my wheel or could it be my rear axle that got ****** too. I wasnt going fast when i hit the curb, 10km about.

Answer:

Doesnt matter the speed, 10 is alot for hitting something You likely did at least 3 of the following: bent the wheel (likely) damaged the tire knocked off balancing weights (fairly likely) bent the axel bent another suspension component (likely) did slight frame damage It wont be cheap to fix, that is for sure good luck
If the wheel is dented, then probably just the rimIf the wheel is actually tilted then there is probably more damage
You can get a copper hoop that goes around that already has the solder inside it, then just heat. Way easier then cutting it out and soldering together.
Common sense would tell you not to drive 95km if the car vibrates your eye-balls out. Can't answer your question about the rear axle. You forgot to tell us the year, make and model of the car. Front wheel drive cars don't have rear axles. You probably bent a wheel, ruined a rear wheel bearing or bent a rear spindle. Did you think of jacking the wheel off the ground and spinning it by hand to see what you ruined?
