Ok I needed 2 new front axles. I braught it to this guy who works out of his garage. He supposedly got 2 new axles and was going to install themI have custom rims on my car and to get them off to change the axles you need the custom key for the lug nutsI'm pretty sure I didn't give this to him. Did He rip me off???
It is possible to take the axle off without removing the rims through the center cap. All he had to do was remove that large axle nut that should be exposed through the center of your rim. If that isn't exposed, then he ripped you off. Look at the part of the axle that goes into the transmission. This is called the CV jount and it looks like a hexaganol can of soup. If it looks rusted and old, then its your old axle, but if it looks new then its new. Check it.
if he could not remove the rims its pretty obvious he ripped you.
