Question:

difference between muffler and exhaust system?

ok so im looking for a flowmaster for my durango so while i was looking i found that you could by a flow master 40 muffler for 87 bucks but then theres the flowmaster 40 exhaust system which costs 330 its alot more expensive what does it include that the muffler doesnt? thanks.

Answer:

The muffler is only one part of the exhaust. The rest of the system are the exhaust pipes and tailpipes to also increase exhaust flow. The two combined together will do more than just the muffler will. They make complete kits to replace the entire exhaust system because factory systems are more restricted than the replacement ones.
I THINK IT'S RACIAL ACTUALLY THINK ABOUT IT!
BECAUSE OTHER COLORS CAN MESS UP UR CAR
they would be very dirty other wise. they made white tire in the early 1900's. probably cheaper to produce too.
adding just the mufflers is exactly what it sounds like, all your doing is changing mufflers if you get the complete exhaust system on it your changing everything, and that will help it more than just changing mufflers,it cost more but there's a good reason for it,your getting all new pipes and mufflers, and its better to do it that way the mufflers work better when they have the pipes to match them, and it will also run and perform a lot better than just adding mufflers to it,good luck.
