Question:

DMV vs Court License Suspension?

Over a year ago i got a DUI in june, being underage (18 at the time) i got my license suspended from the DMV for a year. Now that year has passed by im able to get my license back. So i went to the dmv thinking id be able to get it back (paid court off all court fines, obtained a SR22 form, paid off the reinstatement fee) but they said i had an court suspension for a few more months. But i cant wait any more longer (its been 14 months without a license) because i am going to need it for school and no public transportation go directly to the school. Now i made an appointment to appear in the front of the judge. Anything i should say/mention in order to get my court restriction removed? Thanks

Answer:

merely be very respectful and clarify that you want it for school. smart off in any respect or coach any disrespect and also you may no longer get your license again for a good longer era of time.
They like to screw with you so that you get frustrated and drive anyhow. This way they can watch you and bust you again and again. They only care about generating more money from fines and the stupid fees they throw at you. That's why when you take a regular ticket to court they will drop the points but keep the fine the same almost every time. Since you got a D.U.I. they have you by the balls, If you get caught driving without getting your license back first they get to charge you with another D.U.I. and suck even more money from you. Once you are in the system it is very hard to get out. You can take your case in front of a judge and ask the to lift the suspension but DO NOT DRIVE until you get the actual license in your hand. Be very careful when dealing with the D.M.V. because they will screw you any way they can. Hope this helps.
