Do chair dips really work?

I read somewhere that chair dips are a great way to work out your triceps. I'm going to start doing chair dips everyday now, but in how fast will i see results (and are they any other ways to speed up the process)? Also do chair dips work out your biceps also? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Answer:

Dips are a good tricep exercise that works the pecs a little as well. They are not a bicep exercise. What results are you looking for? If you're a guy and looking for bigger arms, it shouldn't take that long. A couple weeks to notice some improvement in the mirror as long as you're eating and sleeping well. Make sure it's not the only exercise you're doing. Are you a female looking to lose underarm fat? Dips won't help you. Diet will.
What Do Chair Dips Work
Chair dips will work faster if you put enough weight on your lap so that you can only do about 8 repetitions for 3 sets. They do not work your biceps. If you can't press out the last one or two, bend your knees slightly. Also, be sure to flex your triceps completely at the top of each rep. It will make a big difference.
