Question:

Do motorcycle tires have tubes or do they seal to the wheel like on a car? also.?

How about on scooter tires? Tube or sealed to the wheel? Thanks.

Answer:

Tires with tubes are very rare anymore and are usually only found on bicycles. Motorcycle tires are higher performance than most automobile tires but they are still tubeless and have whats called a bead, as do cars. When inflated right the bead will seal on the rim. If you are having a problem with a leak around the rim, 99 out of 100 times its a broken bead. This usually happens when the tire is installed improperly. Hope this helps.

If the valve stem comes out through the center of the rim u can use tube or tubless, if the valve stem comes out the side of the rim u can only go tubeless , if u try to use a tube u have to pull the stem to the side to get it out the hole in the rim which eventually rips the tube .You should use tubes in laced (spoke) wheels. Make sure u have arubber liner around the inside of the rim
