Question:

Do my windshield wiper arms need to be replaced?

My wipers are not working. When i turn them on and look at the bolt, the bolt is turning, so I think that the arms of the wipers have been stripped and I need to get them replaced. Do I take them somewhere for that service to be done or do I have to do it myself?

Answer:

just go to auto zone, and ask for assistance. there are several different sizes of wipers, if you know your wiper size than it is mare than easy to do it yourself. To find your wiper size, look at your wipers. They should have a number on them, if you can't find the wiper just consult a person at auto zone.
Just Tighten the Bolt/nuts up, as they are not normally very tight and you will find all will be OK. But make sure you tighten them up when the wipers have come to the rest position to do this you will have to turn your wipers on and then turn them off (while the ignition is turned on) and then they will have come to their correct resting position and then just tighten them but do not over tighten. PS you haven't told me what car you have. as that could make a big difference.
