I don't think that either one would have been that hard to take out if you take explosives out of the picture. The only reason the 9/11 terrorists were successful was that the previous hijacking procedures were to bid your time and placate the bad guys until you can be rescued. Knowing what we know now I do not feel that that scene will ever be repeated. As the plane in Pennsylvania was made aware of the situation the passengers were not going to go like sheep, they fought back and God bless them. The underwear bomber was attacked immediately and I think that is what any red blooded person is going to do anymore.
